Our trip to folly farm!

We had a brilliant day at Folly Farm on our school trip and it was a beautiful sunny day.

First, we went on a hungry caterpillar trail and found out what real caterpillars like to eat.
Next, we hid cocoons in the woods so they would be safe from birds and other predators! We enjoyed exploring the woods and learning lots more about the life cycle of a caterpillar. After that, we had lunch together sitting in the sunshine.
Then, we learnt about butterflies and made our own symmetrical butterflies using natural materials. We also hid butterflies around the garden and challenged our friends to find them.
Finally, we played a fun game called bat and moth and went back to school on the coach. Thank you to Cathy at Folly farm for a fantastic day and all our parents that came along to help.

Farmer Nick’s farm

Today Angelfish class went on a school trip to Farmer Nick’s farm. Unfortunately it was raining but luckily we all wore our wellies with our smiles and had a fantastic day! Farmer Nick and Liz took us to see the cows and hens who were all called Mary! We were lucky enough to see some baby chicks and a 5 week old Barn own too. Then, we went into the wooded area and the children worked so well together building dens. Finally, we went to see a farmer milking the cows and learned about how they make cheese. Thank you so much to all the parents that came along and made it a brilliant day.
